Children's Church

Summer Worship 2017
Sundays, June 18th-Aug 27th
Children 3 years old through 3rd grade are invited to the Children’s Chapel room following Kids Time during the 10:30 summer service.  This summer we will be doing a Dr. Seuss curriculum which teaches God’s lessons through the colorful characters of Dr. Seuss.  Kids return to their families during the final songs.

Sundays, September - May
Children 3 years old through 3rd grade are invited to the Children's Chapel room (room 208) following the Kid's Time during the service for their very own time of worship!  Every Sunday following Kids Time, the children will follow a leader out of the sanctuary and into the Children’s Chapel (next to the nursery) where together they will sing songs, hear a message, and pray in playful and creative ways.  We follow the curriculum from the Young Children in Worship books written by Sonja Stewart and Jerome Berryman. On Communion Sundays, the children will return to the sanctuary in time to participate with their families, and the other Sundays they will return to the sanctuary during the offering time and after the sermon.  Parents are welcome to accompany children to children's church and stay to observe.

Parents and others called to ministry with children are welcome to join or volunteer.  We need two Safe Place certified adults each week to help the children participate in worship, and our hope is that no one need participate more than once a month unless they desire.  Worship is important for parents and children, and now we have a fantastic opportunity for both groups to praise God in their own unique ways!  Contact Andrea Trantham at andreathrantham@pchum.org for additional information or office@pchum.org.
